Removals
Moving your possessions safely to the other side of the world demands that they are securely packed, are collected on time, shipped safely and on arrival are again transported to you by a reliable company. Our recommended supplier has an established network throughout the UK and your destination.
When you have a good idea of when you are likely to move please contact us by email and in turn we will pass your details on. If you are already a client we will of course have this, if you are new to us please ensure to provide us with your address and telephone number together with the size of your house, your destination and when you are likely to move. In turn they will contact you for a free survey and quote.
Pensions, investments, tax
When you emigrate you need to understand what needs to done regarding any private pensions and investments. Contact the provider and establish what you are able to do and seek their guidance.
If you have a substantial sum available then it is also important to consider any tax implications as well as how to establish new pensions and investments overseas. We can introduce you to a specialist organisation that can advise you in ways that are Tax efficient – an important consideration when moving large amounts.
We recommend that you contact us a year in advance of your planned move and we will pass on your contact information.

Currency transfer
The currency exchange market is volatile at the best of times and exchange rates moving on a daily basis and understanding trends is a skilled job. The main banks and travel agencies are convenient for small amounts but for large numbers, say when you sell your house, you need to get the best advice and of course a good deal on the day.
Currency Brokers offer a quick and convenient way of moving your money overseas. They have to be registered with HM Customs and Excise and have ‘Client Holding’ accounts with a major bank. The big benefit is that in most instances the brokers will give you a much better rate and in the case of our recommended broker they do not even charge a commission or handling fee. You can literally save thousands on the deal.
It is wise to contact the broker 6 months in advance of a planned move, earlier if the amounts are very substantial. Please email your contact details and we will pass on your contact information.
Taking pets
In general only Cats, Dogs and Horses can be imported into Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the USA.
Specialist companies can help you with all aspects of moving your pets and advise you on preparing your pet for travel, vaccinations and quarantine regulations.
Our clients have successfully used Airpets – please see Useful websites for details.
